Christmas has officially invaded....

Now, I am just about the least religious person on the planet, but come on, theyre just so darn cute!

No time this christmas though, i have gifts to make.....

It's been a while.....

But I'm back now, i swear.....thanks to windows vista thwarting nearly every attempt i made to upload pictures of finished projects, i got frustrated and this blog ended up rather on the back burner for far too long....

In the meantime, i've been quite productive knitting wise (in the rest of my life, that remains to be seen, but lets not go into that). This includes my first ever pair of socks, which were quite the adventure, a yoga mat bag and a cute red cabled purse.....if vista cooperates i will post pictures of these soon....

As far as works in progress, I am almost done with one of a pair of purple socks, knit in an absolutely fabulous purple Koigu KPPPM. I have some pretty green hand dyed sock yarn that hopefully will become socks as well, but its time to interrupt my everyday knitting for the mad christmas gift rush.....being particularly ambitious, i'm hoping to knit a handmade xmas gift for everyone on my list....insane? why yes i am, but they say admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery....in the case of knitting though, i think not....

On this year's agenda:

dad: grey cabled dress socks from the nifty new "Son of Stitch n Bitch"...gotta pick up some grey Dale Baby Ull this week.

mom: candy cane lace socks, in burgundy knitpicks essential

ryan: not sure about this one, thinking maybe a hat, knit in case school colors?

and, several other gifts, which shall need to remain a secret cause the recipients may or may not be reading this blog....

moral of the story is: i've got a shit ton of knitting to get done in the next 40-ish days. *cries*

Update....Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel....

And for once, it seems to NOT be an oncoming train.....well all is well in knitting, at least...

LeSlouch hat- done....the pics that i got of it turned out to have some severe red eye, i looked a mite bit possessed, so i'll have to do a redo soon....damn you canon cameras and your infernal red eye!!!

Ruffled Scarf-done, no pics yet on that either

Alien Illusion Scarf-finished yesterday, its currently in the middle of blocking...fringe is cut and ready to go when its dry....and of course, pictures to come of that as well.....

Being that i've been the picture of productivity this last week (knittingwise at least, i wish i could say the same about everything else, but thats another story), i decided it was time to take on a new project....

after wandering around joanns for a while, and looking through my books i decided to do a small project, the Om Yoga Mat Bag from Stitch n Bitch Nation.....cause i found that i have a yoga mat, with no bag, so it felt right to remedy the situation....

i'm not really far enough to see much yet, i'll post some pictures tomorrow

And, i'm back again, with an update on Operation: End Procrastination. Here's a view of my bag o' knitting early last week, when i got home from Dayton....

Aaand the piece de resistance, my alien illusion scarf, from the first stitch n bitch....look its almost done!! got the new yarn i needed, and i'm ready to finish it.....

And it Begins......

Here is attempt 2.0 of me having an online blog....the other one got way too personal and ended up purely being a place for me to whine about personal problems......which kinda takes the fun out of things, eh?

So, now that i am about a minute and a half away from being no longer a college student, I figured it was time to do something new.....and talk about something happier.....which just so happens to be my love of crafts....

Sadly, crafting took a backseat to school for the past 4 years, but now that I will hopefully have a job and free time, and fundage to support my addiction, there should be some things to talk about.....so without further ado, away we go....

Current Projects:

I am a chronic non-finisher of crafty things, with about a million half started items of various persuasions....my goals for the summer are to finish most of these and start with clean slate....currently in progress are:

Patchwork quilt---the top is all pieced together, just needs to be stuffed, quilted, and bound off..

Alien Illusion scarf---from stitch and bitch. again almost done, just needs 2 more skeins of yarn.

cute beret hat (LeSlouch)---from a pattern i found online. this is what i'm currently knitting in my apt. down in dayton, should be done hopefully in several days. i'll post pics of that, as well as the hat i just finished.


I think thats all i've got for now, once I go home and take stock of the madness that is my old bedroom I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune.
